Martin's Feather 40th Dura Ace Build

Some time ago I approached Ricky Feather to build me a track frame to celebrate my 40th year, with a brief of "do what you like" to a certain degree, Ricky set about his business. I have to say the finished result turned out pretty much as I expected with immaculate execution to detail!

Columbus Life tubes have very small tapers to the seat & chainstays giving a beefy appearance to the rear triangle, add to that Ricky's amazing torch skills & hand carved lugwork & I now have a truly one off track bike.

It didn't end there for me, for the last 12 years I've worked for the UK distributor of Shimano so when it came component choice it was easy, Dura Ace track all the way! Saddle & bar tape come courtesy of Selle San Marco's Concor in Shimano blue with added accents of the same blue on the frame this build is pure custom. Rounding off the package are Mavic Reflex CD 32h rims laced 3x with DT double butted stainless spokes to large flange Dura Ace hubs & Continental Sondeklasse 175 gram tubulars.

Not many details kicking around yet but Rapha are organizing a 100km North London version of Paris Roubaix that winds up at the boozer to watch the proper race, nice idea but I'm not sure why they're using a Belgian lion for an English version of a French race. Looks nice though.

We've seen the pictures of the new 2010 Mash Cinelli kicking around the internet for a while now but things are now coming together with Cinelli getting the final samples off the ground and I have to say, it's looking sweeeet! Sticking with the same Benny Gold design from the 2009 model, gone is the grey on grey and in comes a lovely candy apple green. Expect these to fly off the racks again but if you're still looking for the grey option, there is one left at Velosport. Get on it!

Nike AF1

Design studio Wilson Brothers have collaborated with Nike to produce this, the Nike AF1. The bike, a one off, was produced for the 25yr exhibition of the iconic Nike Air Force 1 shoe at London's Dover Street Market. Wilson Brothers also worked with Brooks & Stussy to produce the White Swallow saddle. Limited to 120 piece's, they were available at various Stussy outlets but will sadly now be long gone!
